You may have noticed that you can't save your game in XCOM 2, and this is because the save files are encrypted. You are not always given a key to unlock the files, but luckily there's a tool that will allow you to break into any computer running XCOM 2 and install/uninstall this tool on it. This free program is called the Xcom2 Save Editor. Here are some of its features: - View all saves from any user on your computers' hard drives - Edit any file with ease - Set multiple variables for every unit type including soldier names, cooldowns, class levels, inventories, etc... - Edit any unit's stats such as class levels - Add and remove user scripts to the save files. These scripts let you add codes while playing the game, but certain codes cannot be saved because of the save file encryption process. The script can be written in a simple text file and then transferred to the save files. This includes scripts that control cameras, various types of killcams, and a lot more. - View any information about your saves - Browse the file structure of all of your save files. You can view files, subfolders, and files of different formats. - Upload/download Saves to/from Dropbox if you prefer not to lug around a hard drive or USB drive around. - Delete saves easily by accessing the L1 & L2 folders. - Launch the game on any XCOM 2 machine without authentication issues. This includes loading any saved game, playing at higher difficulties for all playthroughs, and launching the game if you're using Ultra mode (which will skip some cinematics). - Change the name of any save file in case you need to rename it. - Download and install the tool by visiting this page: https://github.com/XcomUtil/XCOM2SaveEditor To use the Xcom2 Save Editor, you will need: An internet connection to download and install the program. A working but unencrypted save file to test with such as your Campaign Save or Loadout Save. A saved game in the Campaign or in a Custom WotC save. The recommended process is to download and install the program, then place your unencrypted save file into the XCom2SaveEditor.exe folder on your computer. You can then use XCom2SaveEditor to view and edit the files, just like you would any other text editor. To fix gameplay loading issues caused by XCOM2SaveEditor, it is recommended that you move SaveData.xml from the "XCOM 2" folder to somewhere else, such as your Documents or Desktop so that XCom2SaveEditor does not overwrite it. eccc085e13
